First Catch
Kids Event Rescheduled for March 1st!

Welcome to First Catch, where we are dedicated to providing opportunities for young anglers and families new to the sport of ice fishing!
RESCHEDULED
Due to recent warm temps the Kids Ice Fishing Event has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 1st.

This years First Catch Kids Ice Event is scheduled for Sunday, March 1st from 1pm to 4pm.  Registration starts at noon.
Lake Alvin State Park
Registration is from noon to 1pm.
From the east side Walmart, go south on
hwy 11 6 miles.  Turn left at hwy 106 and go 2 miles east. Turn right at Spring Creek Golf Course and go 1 1/2 mile south to Lake Alvin State Park.
Park entrance licenses are required to enter the park with your vehicle.  A day permit is approx $6.  Also, any parents or adults intending to fish, need a license.  All children under 16 do not need one for this event since they will be accompanied by a licensed adult with our volunteers and guides.  However all children need a parent or guardian with them at all times during the event.

The event is free.  We will give a free rod and reel to the first 250 kids as well as a collection of ice fishing jigs.  The event will include free hot chocolate, snacks, juice boxes, etc.  Free instruction and seminars on taking kids ice fishing.  Free bait.  We also will give free demonstrations on how ice fishing electronics work as well as underwater cameras.  There are restroom facilities available and warming huts.

We are also in need of volunteers for this event!  Please take one day out of this ice fishing season to pass this tradition on to other families.  All volunteers need to be present at 11am.  Thank you!

See you on the ice!,
